Cultural Routes in Villaviciosa

The Asturian pre-Romanesque and Romanesque routes.

Did you know that "Camino de Santiago", declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, runs through our municipality, leaving a good number of Romanesque and pre-Romanesque temples in its wake?

Villaviciosa has the largest number of pre-Romanesque and Romanesque monuments in Asturias. Let us show you the historic Villaviciosa, and guide you on this journey in time to such emblematic monuments as San Salvador de Valdediós, which is one of the most important examples of Asturian Pre-Romanesque art, as well as many others of great cultural and historical value included in our guided tours.

The routes are guided by the José Cardín's Foundation. From their expert hand you will discover everything that these cultural jewels of our historical heritage hide*.

*Contact us at least 10 days in advance to check availability and book your guided tour (subject to availability).
